OUR STORY

We met in 2014. Austin, a USC student, had stayed on campus for summer courses. Kale, a Stanford student, had enrolled in a USC film program to see if screenwriting was her thing. A mutual friend introduced us in mid-June, and we quickly hit it off. By summer’s end, Kale knew two things for certain: screenwriting was, indeed, her thing — and so was Austin.

The first year of our relationship was long-distance, with frequent trips between SoCal and the Bay. In 2015, Kale officially moved to Los Angeles. Never ones to rush things, we didn’t move in together until 2020 — giving us time to grow, mature, and build independent identities before merging our lives. Austin, a self-proclaimed non-animal person, even had time to develop a deep love for Kale’s dog, Charlie.

After ten years together, we surprised our families at Thanksgiving by announcing our engagement. We’d long known that we wanted to spend forever together but, as always, took the leap when it felt right. It was a perfect — and champagne-filled — celebration of our love.

We are so excited to celebrate our next chapter with all of you!
